Keyboard

The keyboard has 64 to 101 keys.  Some keyboards also have 102 keys.  The keyboard can be roughly divided into 5 parts based on usage.

  • Ø  Function key.
  • Ø  Arrow keys.
  • Ø  Alphabetic key.
  • Ø  Numeric key.
  • Ø  Special key.



Function key: The keys from F1 to F12 on the top left side of the keyboard are called function keys.

These keys are used to perform a specific task.  These keys are used to help with a program or to run a program.

Arrow key: At the bottom right of the keyboard are four separate keys.  Some keys are at the top of the board.  The keys are marked with arrows.  Using which the cursor can be easily moved to the right, left, top and bottom.  These are also called edit keys.  Because these keys can be used for text editing.

Alphabetical key: The part of the keyboard where the letters of the English alphabet A to Z are arranged is called the alphabetical key.

Numeric key: The keys used to write numbers from 0 to 9 on the right side of the keyboard are called numeric keys. The keyboard also has +, -, *, / symbols called arithmetic operators.

Also, the <,>, = symbols are called logical operators.

Special key: In addition to the keys mentioned, there are many other types of keys that are used to perform special tasks.  Below is a look at the special keys.

Esc: With this key, any instruction is canceled.

Tab: This key is used to prepare paragraphs, columns, numbers, paragraphs, etc. in the middle and end space as needed.

Caps Lock: This key can be used to type English letters in lowercase and uppercase letters.

Shift: This key is used to type uppercase and lowercase letters at the beginning, middle, and end of the same word. 

Such as Dakhil, Mangonia The letter D is written by holding down the shift key.  The rest is written by pressing the shift key.

Ctrl: The command is given by pressing the special key together with the Ctrl key.  For the convenience of the user, there are two Ctrl keys on the right and left of the keyboard.

Alt: This key is used to give different commands in the program and it is also used to create different commands.

Enter: This key is used to instruct the computer to execute it.  This key is used to create new paragraphs for writing.

Pause Break: This key is used if it is difficult to read any text for fast speed on the computer.

Print Screen: This key is used to print everything visible on the computer screen.

 

Delete: This key is used to delete a sentence or a text and a file.

Home: This key is used to move the cursor to the top of the page.

End: Pressing this key will move the cursor to the end of the page wherever it is.

Page Up: This key is used to move the cursor upwards.

Page Down: This key is used to move the cursor downwards.

Insert: When you write something in the middle of a text, it is usually written on the right side of the text, but when you press this key, it is overwritten on the previous letter.  When this key is pressed at the end of work, it returns to its previous state.

BackSpace: This key is used to delete the back of a text.

Space Bar: This key is the longest of the keyboard keys.

This key is used to make spaces between words when writing a sentence.

Num Look: Pressing this key turns on the keys on the right.

There are also 4 more keys on the multimedia keyboard.

1. Stand by Mood: Pressing this key will keep the computer on but the monitor will be off.

2. Mail key: Pressing this key starts Outlook Express and you can send a mail with it.  But the internet must be on.

3. Web key: It can be used to open a web browser directly and browse the internet.

4. Start Menu key: By pressing this key, the status menu can be opened, and the necessary commands can be given.
