Environmental pollution
Environmental pollution and its remedies
The environmental crisis is approaching all over the world. Man-made industrial vehicle waste and black
smoke continue to cause cruel cruelty to the natural environment. As a result, the balance of nature's environment
is being lost day by day. Environmental scientists are deeply concerned about
deadly water pollution and air pollution.
Various researches are going on to get rid of this situation. The United Nations has declared June 5 as
World Environment Day to create public awareness.
Various causes of environmental pollution:
1. As a result of population growth, the amount of free zone and forest land in Bangladesh is decreasing day by day. Wetlands are being filled and used.
2. Excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides: Due to excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides in the land, soil pollution is occurring and the quality of the land is deteriorating. These chemicals are mixed in the water of rivers and reservoirs and are causing the death of aquatic plants and animals.
3. Industrial Pollution: Liquid chemical wastes from factories are contaminating the water, which is becoming a major cause of the extinction of fish. Exhaust fumes from factories have polluted the atmosphere. Which is becoming a threat to public health.
4. Deforestation: Due to population growth, deforestation is 1.4 percent every year. As a result, the level of soil erosion is increasing day by day. Due to which the flood resistance is decreasing and the average temperature of the country is gradually increasing.
5. Installation of Deep Tubewells: As a result of the installation and use of deep tubewells, the groundwater level is going down day by day. As a result, the water crisis is more prevalent in the northern region during the dry season. As a result, the problem of arsenic contamination in water is increasing.
6. Garbage problem: Rotten gas from urban waste is polluting the air.
7. Inadequacy of land: The natural balance is being disturbed due to cutting down hills and building houses. The environment is being polluted under the pressure of the city's population.
Remedy: The steps that should be taken to prevent environmental pollution in our country are: To create public awareness about the dangers of environmental pollution. Afforestation covers about 50% of the total area of the country. Introduce reusable fuels in the form of wind, solar, and hydropower by changing the existing fuels. Prevent deforestation and land erosion.
Ø Industrial - Factory and household waste must
be disposed of at designated places. Gas collected from waste is used as fuel
and waste material is used as fertilizer.
Ø The use of organic fertilizers should be increased by reducing the use of chemical fertilizers in agriculture
Ø Reduce the use of pesticides.
Ø Transforming the work of preventing environmental pollution into a social movement.
Ø Establishment of factories far away from
residential areas. Not to use defective parts in industry and vehicles and to
invent more efficient devices with less fuel. The rate of population growth is
increasing and the rate of education is increasing. Considering its
environmental impact before planning in any area, construction of dams in
coastal areas and afforestation along with dams.
The responsibility to protect the environment is not just the work of the government or any organization or individual; The responsibility belongs to all the people of the world, to every individual. To make those who are unknowingly involved in environmental pollution aware, to provide severe punishment to those who do not care about the environment in the hope of making more profit. To make everyone aware of the dangers of environmental pollution for our survival.
